Computer Association of Nepal-USA (CAN-USA) organized a conference on US Nepal Technology Development on July12-13, 2008 in UC Berkeley, California. Experts from various sectors including researchers, professionals, policy makers, aid-organizations, industry leaders, and concerned citizens were part of the conference to create technology based solutions for critical issues facing developing nations.
The sessions of the conference were mainly focused on Rural Village Connectivity, Remote Health Care(Telemedicine), Emergency Communication Infrastructure, E-governance IT development and credit constraints, Information Technology and Productivity Enhancement.
There had always been the need to put together the ideas and energy of the technical community in bay area and the attempt was successfully made. With many world class presenters, CAN USA tech conference was a stone that was thrown in a pond which will have ripple effects and reverberations globally and locally to Nepal.
