On 2nd May 2009, Computer Association of Nepal celebrated its 16th Anniversary & ICT day at Hotel Annapurna along with its members & IT enthusiasts. During the ICT day , a best practices workshop was organized where there were more than 150 participants for the workshop . The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Honorable Minister Er. Ganesh Shah and chaired by President of CAN-Er. Suresh K Karna .
This Best Practices workshop was done to develop coordination among computer professionals, Institutions with their services and was aimed to create a platform to those Professionals and Institutions those who are seeking for national Platform to present their ideas and Views. The main objectives of the program were to
- Create platform to member organizations and individuals.
- Share experiences and exchange views among the stakeholders.
- Analyze the effectiveness of the workshop at national and local level.
- Collect and disseminate information on best practices in ICT sector on 2nd May (ICT Day).
- Celebrate ICT Day and CAN's 16th Anniversary.
During the workshop, there were several paper presentations, discussions and case study interaction. Ramon Magasessey Awardee Mr. Mahabir Pun shared his experiences of the ICT sector as well as papers on different topics were presented by several Professional and entrepreneurs working on the ICT sector and on the second session, discussion on various issues were done. The papers presented were on Best Practice from Government Initiatives, Sharing Experience and Recommendation in ICT Sectors , Best Practices of ICT e-collaboration, Fun-convenient-comfort life using ICT . Computer association of Nepal has planned to celebrate the May 2nd ICT day on a National level from next year.
